many days have flown by
many nights have flown too
i ended up walking by myself through my memory of you
and all i have, and all i wish to be
i can find inside myself
will you come with me?
on this journey, over these four years, i ended up playing cards with three wise men...learning how to play my hand at this thing called life. i have walked with many of you, learned a lot, changed a lot, and grown a lot. it has been a wonderful four years.
2005 ....of a revolution

This is it. The day we have been looking forward to, hoping for, and dreading all at the same time. But it is here. The final day of classes at The College of William and Mary. More affectionately known as Blowout 2005! it will be a great day. i figured this was an appropriate picture for today. The College has a lot of tradition, maybe not this old, but still. I feel like him today. It has been a long, hard road, but i have found that light at the end of the tunnel, and it is beautiful to soak up those rays.

here we go. let the celebrations begin.

i am sure you have read this before, but just in case, i thought i would post it here. mostly because i want to make an additional comment at the end.
For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."
In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating: If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day.
2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.
3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.
4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.
5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.
6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed an Illegal Operation" warning light.
7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.
8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.
9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.
10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.
<5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.>
-because microsoft owns all the roads and controls them in such a way as to exclude any cars but their own from driving on them. the greed and power that comes from having a monopoly over the roads makes them care less about innovation and creativity, and they just create crap cars, since they have to drive on their roads anyways. people would ask about those beautiful, sleek, fast, brilliant Macintosh cars, but Microsoft would brainwash them into believing that they are somehow incapable of driving on the Microsoft roads. the fact of course is that the Macintosh cars can perform even better on those roads than the Mocrosoft ones can and the Mac engineers continue to make modifications to their cars so that they can deal with the hostile travelling environment on the roads. yet Microsoft will not let them drive on the roads and they continue to be forced elsewhere. except for the few that sneak through and surprise people when they prove that the propoganda isnt true and that the brilliant people are the ones who bought the brilliantly made car, not the car that is the easiest to buy or the cheapest or is marketed everywhere or is forced upon them because the company they work for made a deal with the car provider so that everyone must use a Microsoft as the company car.
ok that is enough.

no....this isnt a joke. this actually happened. it is funny, but it actually happened.

that's what i'm talking about...
vote for pedro
and then vote for me...
now, dont get me wrong. i love the movie. clearly. i dont think i need to remind you of that. do i? i just think it is sad and unfathomable that our government never gets anything worthwhile done, but only panders to whatever is the most popular at the time. that they take sides on the terry shiavo case, in direct defiance of the Constitution and it's focus on checks and balances in our government, they fight a war on drugs that cannot be won, they get involved in conflict half-ass, they dont explore options for fuel alternatives, they will not allow farmers to produce mass amounts of food to feed the hungry around the world, they wont focus on exports instead of imports, they wont stop sending all our labor to asia or giving it to robots, and they have organizations which limit and control our freedoms and liberty to such an extent that it should be considered repression. the list goes on. our government is worthless, they refuse to do something useful or worthwhile cause that means they would have to take a risk. all they care about is re-election and not about what really needs to be done and how they can change the world. they want to leave the important issues up in the air so that we can argue about them, so that they can figure out where the public opinion lies, so that they can take a side of the issue which will ensure they get re-elected. meanwhile they can get worthless and meaningless legislation passed immediately if they want to jump on the bandwagon of popularity. if there is an uproar over a woman who is about to die, they will be there to make legislation to stop it. if there is a movie that is popular and that everyone loves, they will write legislation to honor it. and dont say, oh that is just politics. you're right, cause politics is corrupt and underhanded and sleazy.
that is all.
