Man's best... brown-noser?

Another article tackling the Vick issue with a refreshing point of view I agree with, but don't hear very much in the news.

Excessive Cynophilia

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs. I love all animals because they are part of God's creation and I hate seeing them hurt or injured or interfered with by humans unnecessarily. But that doesn't change the fact that I believe strongly that any crime against a human being is much worse than a crime against an animal and should be treated as such both in court and in the court of public opinion. It is absolutely ridiculous that this case is getting as much coverage as it is and that people are so outraged and disgusted. Yes, it is bad and wrong. But it is also part of southern culture that a lot of people don't understand AND it is not more disgusting or despicable than hitting, raping, or murdering another human being, yet we seem to be less concerned or outraged when people are hurting people. And I think that is wrong.
