Steve Jobs continues to do it. he continues to defy the world and then entire market by innovating and creating new and exciting opportunities for consumers to become loyal to Apple. there was an article in PCWorld about the different alternatives to the Windows monopolozing OS, which can be found here
a couple of my favorite quotes from the article:
-on how we have been brainwashed into this singular operating system mindset so that even the notion of switching is incomprehensible:
"I think if you took somebody who had never seen a computer in their life and asked them to diddle around with a Windows PC and a Mac OS X PC, they would find OS X easier to use,"
"The refined and tightly integrated software makes Apple the best overall platform for consumer-based media editing and management."
and i got the privilege to watch one of the most exciting events of the year. whe Worldwide Developers Conference (or WWDC). this is where Steve Jobs has a huge presentation of all the things that are going on and the plans for the future, showing how much he is planning ahead for the future and how far ahead he is of the competition. he is selling the innovation and production of the Apple corporation to these developers so that they will get excited and get on board. here is the link to the video. i wont spoil any of the surprises, and it is a long video so you have to watch the whole thing. WWDC Address
exciting times. get on board before things really start to take off.

in light of my upcoming departure, once again, i feel it is interesting how restless my life has been. i havent been in one place for very long recently. just an observation i guess. so here are some good lyrics from some really good songs, all with the word "wander" in the title. see if you can identify them.
Oh well I roam from town to town
I go through life without a care
’til I’m as happy as a clown
With my two fists of iron and I’m going nowhere
Yeah I went with nothing
Nothing but the thought of you
I went wandering
I went with nothing
But the thought you'd be there too
Looking for you
I went out there
In search of experience
To taste and to touch
And to feel as much
As a man can
Before he repents
I went out searching
Looking for one good man
A spirit who would not bend or break
Who would sit at his father's right hand
I went out walking
With a bible and a gun
The word of God lay heavy on my heart
He's the wanderer looking for his long lost home
He's only got one place to go
He's wandering and wondering when to go home
He's not alone, not alone, not alone
Feet been walking for a thousand years, trying to drive away those fears, but no
Well then he picked up and then he went down south
Dad said nothing and mom shut her mouth
I'm a wanderer,
I have no place or time,
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine,
If you like you can come along with me,
But I promise you that I am not the man I used to be
I'm a wanderer,
I have no place or time,
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine,
And if you would accept me for me,
Then I promise you that there's a better man inside of me
and just for good measure, because i will soon be there:
Sometimes I just look around to take in the feeling coming out
from the ground
But that's just something I do sometimes
And then I just step out the door to take in the wind coming off
of the shore
And that's just what I'm doing tonight
And when you are on your own, not speaking out is like fighting
alone
And that is the worst damn way to fight
And when you are scared no more, reach your hand out and just
open the door
And that's just what I'm doing tonight
The black rock is where I spend my time
Writing a memory or writing a rhyme
Thinking about what is right or wrong
On the black rock is where I like to go
After a long night coming home from a show
And that's where I write my song, all day long, the black
rock
time to get ready to go...

many days have flown by
many nights have flown too
i ended up walking by myself through my memory of you
and all i have, and all i wish to be
i can find inside myself
will you come with me?
on this journey, over these four years, i ended up playing cards with three wise men...learning how to play my hand at this thing called life. i have walked with many of you, learned a lot, changed a lot, and grown a lot. it has been a wonderful four years.
2005 ....of a revolution

This is it. The day we have been looking forward to, hoping for, and dreading all at the same time. But it is here. The final day of classes at The College of William and Mary. More affectionately known as Blowout 2005! it will be a great day. i figured this was an appropriate picture for today. The College has a lot of tradition, maybe not this old, but still. I feel like him today. It has been a long, hard road, but i have found that light at the end of the tunnel, and it is beautiful to soak up those rays.

here we go. let the celebrations begin.
