it is finished. the deadline was reached. the herculean task complete. iTunes and iPod iSync-ed and ready for the remainder of the summer, long drives, flowing hair growing blonder every mile. there is a reason for the creation of the "top-down driving mix" and there is an obvious reason why those songs are almost identical to the "Favorite songs" playlist. there is little like having the top down, sun shining, and great music playing.
in other news, apparently i am not the only one who likes Monty Python. yes that is right, i amd talking about those cooky, weirdo Brits who talk about the Ministry of Silly Walks, Hungarian Fish Slap Dancing, and dead parrots. but Eric Idle, one of the incredibly funny original Pythons, who has been responsible for most of the songs and singing done in Monty Python movies and TV appearences, has done a wonderful job adapting the story of the Search for the Holy Grail into a musical. yes. a musical. a Broadway musical called Monty Python's Spamalot. no just that, a pretty damn good one. yes that is right. 14 nominations for Tony Awards. wow. ever since i heard about this production months ago i have been wanting to see it, but with such an uncertain summer schedule and high ticket prices, let alone sold out shows, it just didnt happen. now that it has won the Tony Award for Best Musical, i am sure it will be impossible to see it. but still. congratulations to Eric Idle and all of the Pythons, including Graham Chapman, God rest his soul, who were there to support Eric on opening night. it is a splendid show from all i have seen and heard. i only hope i can see it sometime. see, Monty Python isnt just for those who like stupid British humor....
