once again i have had the joy and privilege to spend time with Canaan Smith here in Williamsburg. He is an amazing guy and strong man of God, but on top of that he is an incredible musician. He has so much talent. i am just lucky to know him and to be able to share that with my friends. Canaan is going to be in Williamsburg till the middle of July. He played at Paul's last night, will be playing at Aromas tonight and the next couple thursdays. there will be other small shows around town so that he can get some exposure and hopefully make a little money to support himself in school this coming year down in Nashville.

most of you know that i dont like country music. ok that is an understatement. i never listen to country unless i have no other choice. but Canaan is different. he has smart, powerful lyrics, great music and a beautiful voice. he fits the country singer/songwriter profile perfectly and his music is great. after the show at Paul's i asked him to come hang out for a little bit and meet some of my friends. as they were just finishing up their power hour, accompanied by the famous DVD, Canaan, matt and i walk in to hang out. Canaan introduced himself and told them about the concert tonight at Aromas. then he played two songs off of his demo CD. of course matt and i knew them, but everyone else, even the most cynical and picky in the group, as well as two black guys who never listen to country, they all loved it. two girls bought CDs and a couple of them are coming to the concert tonight. it was a great night. i continue to pray for Canaan and his ministry and talent so that God can use him and these gifts he has. tonight will be great. please check out his music. it is country, but like i said, i dont ever listen to country and i love his stuff. it is really good. seriously.

on that note, i will wait for KJ to arrive so that we can hang out and wait for the concert and then for the arrival of Benji-shwaw as we are heading to VABeach tonight. it should be fun.
